How do I get a chess certificate on Coddy?
Pick any chess course and complete a section - finish every lesson and puzzle in it. The certificate is generated automatically the moment the last lesson is done and added to your account.
Is a chess certificate worth anything?
It is not a rating and does not claim to be one. What it certifies is that you worked through every position in a section and found the right moves - a concrete record of what you studied, which is what a club, a coach or a school chess program can actually use. Your rating is still earned over the board.
Are Coddy's chess certificates free?
Yes. Every certificate is free to earn, view, download and share. There is no paywall on any chess lesson and no subscription needed for the certificate.
How does someone verify a chess certificate?
Every certificate has a unique ID and a public URL. Anyone can paste the ID into the verifier on this page or open the URL to confirm it is genuine and see which section it was issued for.
Can I put a chess certificate on LinkedIn?
Yes - the certificate page has a one-click "Add to LinkedIn" button, a downloadable PDF and a public link. Most learners add them under Licenses & Certifications.
How many chess certificates can I earn?
One per section, across every chess course: the rules, tactics and playing-real-games sections of the beginner course, the two endgame sections and the two tactics-and-checkmates sections today, with more as the space grows.
Do I need to finish the whole course to get a certificate?
No. Each section issues its own certificate as soon as you finish it, so your first one arrives after the first section, not at the end of the course.
What if I lose my certificate ID?
Sign in and open this page: every certificate you have earned is listed under "My certifications" with a link and a download button.
