Before you bring it to your class
How do students join my class?
You share one join link. Each student opens it, signs in to a free Coddy account, and lands directly in your class — you never create or manage accounts for them. You can also invite by email, and you can rotate or disable the link at any time.
Do I have to follow Coddy's curriculum?
No. You assign work chapter by chapter, so you decide what your class learns next and in what order. Pick from your class's journey or from any course in the catalog, and set a due date if you want one.
Is grading automatic?
Yes. Every exercise runs against its tests the moment a student submits, so completion is tracked without you marking anything. Your gradebook fills in on its own, and you can still open any submission to see the work behind a result.
Can I see the actual code a student wrote?
Yes — that is the part teachers use most. Open any lesson and you see every attempt a student made, the exact code they submitted, which tests passed, and for a failing test what was expected versus what their program produced. That turns "they're stuck" into a specific thing you can talk about.
How do I spot a student falling behind?
The class page leads with who needs attention: students with overdue work or who have not started the latest chapter. Alongside it, a momentum chart shows whether the class is speeding up or slowing down week over week, and flags anyone with no activity at all in the last seven days.
Can other teachers help run my classes?
Yes. Add colleagues as instructors and they see only the classes they teach, including those students' progress and submissions. Admins see the whole organization. It works for a department sharing one plan as well as for a single teacher.
Will it work on school Chromebooks?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser — the editor and the code execution — so there is nothing to install and no lab setup. Students code on Chromebooks, school laptops or their own machines, and premium access on iOS and Android is included with every seat.
How many seats do I need, and can I change later?
One seat per student, and the price per seat drops as you add more. Start with the size of the class you are teaching now — you can talk to us any time to add seats as more classes come on board, and billing and invoices are managed from your dashboard.
