Django Online

Write a Django project, press Run and use your site in the browser: pages, forms, the admin. Real Django, nothing to install. Free, no sign-up.

Run Django online, right in your browser

Edit a Django project beside its live preview. Press Run to create and apply migrations, then open the home page. On your own computer, run makemigrations and migrate before starting python manage.py runserver. Here you can click links, submit forms and use the admin in Django 6.1, without installing anything or creating an account.

Each example is a whole project: mysite/settings.py, mysite/urls.py and an app with its views, models and templates, every file editable. The Console shows what manage.py prints, your print() calls and every request. The Shell tab is manage.py shell with your models imported, and the Data tab shows the rows in each table.

What makes this Django playground useful

  • The real framework, not a look-alike: Django 6.1.2 serves your URLs, renders your templates and runs your ORM queries on SQLite.
  • A browser beside your code: an address bar, back and forward, working links and forms, and Django's own error pages while DEBUG is on.
  • The admin works: the blog example creates a superuser, so you can log in at /admin/ and add posts.
  • A Shell and a Data tab: query your models, run createsuperuser, and see every row without writing a page for it.

What you can build in the Django playground

  • A small website: add a page with a view, a URL and a template, then link it from the navigation with {% url %}.
  • A blog: add a field to the Post model, press Run to migrate, and show it on the page and in the admin's list.
  • A JSON API: return JsonResponse from a view, accept a JSON POST, and call it from the page with fetch().

Django online FAQ

Can I run Django online without installing anything?

Yes. This page runs Python and Django in your browser with WebAssembly, so there is nothing to install and no account to make. The first Run downloads Python and Django once (a few megabytes); after that the site starts in under a second.

Is this the real Django?

It is Django 6.1.2 on Python 3.14, unchanged, running your project. Your files are ordinary Django files: copy them into a project on your computer and they run the same.

Where is my data stored?

In a SQLite database in memory. Every Run starts with an empty database, migrates it, and loads the example's data, so what you add through a form or the admin lasts until the next Run.

What does the playground not do?

It cannot install packages from PyPI, connect to PostgreSQL or another server, send real email, or reach the internet from Python. Uploaded files and images are not supported. It is for learning and trying ideas, not for hosting a site.

Is it free, and is my code saved?

It is free and needs no account. Your edits to each example are kept in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back. Reset puts the current example back the way it started, and the download button saves the open file.

How do I learn Django?

Start with the examples here: change a view, press Run, and see what happens. For a path, take Coddy's Django course: views, templates, models, forms, accounts and APIs, with your site running beside your code in every lesson.
