Godot Online

Write GDScript, press Play and play your game in the real Godot engine, right in your browser. Nothing to install. Free, no sign-up.

Run Godot online, right in your browser

Write GDScript on one side and play your game on the other. Press Play, click the game and use the arrow keys and Space. The game runs in the real Godot 4.7 engine, compiled for the web, so _ready, _physics_process, move_and_slide() and signals behave exactly as they do in the Godot editor. Nothing to install and no account needed.

Each example is a small Godot project: a script and a scene (main.tscn), and you can edit both. Change the script and press Play again: the game restarts with your code in a moment, without reloading the engine. The Console shows every print and every error with its line, and the Scene tab shows the running node tree, like the Scene dock in the editor.

What makes this Godot playground useful

  • The real engine, not a look-alike: Godot 4.7.2's official web build runs your scripts, its physics and its scene tree.
  • Hot reload: swap your edited script into the running game and keep playing, the way the Godot editor does.
  • A Scene tab with the live node tree. Pick a node to see its position, velocity and script while the game runs.
  • Five example games to start from: a platformer, a top down walker, a coin collector with signals, bouncing balls with physics, and fireworks with particles.

What you can build in the Godot playground

  • A platformer hero: change SPEED and JUMP_VELOCITY, add a double jump with a counter, or make the ledges move.
  • A coin collector: connect the coin's body_entered signal, count the coins in a Label, then add a timer that ends the round.
  • Physics toys: drop RigidBody2D balls with a key, change their bounce, or build them a ramp in the scene file.

Godot online FAQ

Can I use Godot online without installing anything?
Yes. This page runs Godot's own web build in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to make. The first Play downloads the engine once (about 7 MB); after that a game starts in a moment.
Is this the real Godot engine?
It is Godot 4.7.2, the official web export template from the Godot release, running your project. Your script and scene are ordinary Godot files: copy them into a project in the Godot editor and they run the same.
Can I edit the scene, not only the script?
Yes. Open the main.tscn tab to edit the scene as text: add a node, move a platform, change a color. Press Play and the game starts again with your scene. To build scenes by dragging nodes around, use the Godot editor on your computer.
What does the playground not do?
It has no files to import, so there are no images, sounds or fonts of your own: draw with Polygon2D, ColorRect, Line2D and Label. It runs 2D games with Godot's Compatibility renderer, with no C# (Godot cannot export C# to the web) and no mouse in the examples, which are played with the keyboard.
Is it free, and is my code saved?
It is free and needs no account. Your edits to each example are kept in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back. Reset puts the current example back the way it started, and the download button saves the open file.
How do I learn to make games in Godot?
Start with the examples here: change one number, press Play, and see what it does. For a path, take Coddy's GDScript course, which teaches the language Godot runs, from variables to classes and signals, on a real Godot engine in your browser.
