The Waiting Move

Sometimes everything is in place and there is still no check: the rook's file meets the edge right beside his king, and any check there is eaten. Do not spoil it. Play a waiting move - any safe rook move along the same line - and he must step into the corner himself. That forced step is called zugzwang.
