Final: The Gift Ribbon
Part of the Factors & Fractions section of Coddy's Pre-Algebra journey. Lesson 56 of 58.
Wrapping a parcel takes several pieces of ribbon: a few pieces all cut to the same mixed-number length, and one short piece for the bow. This problem asks for the total length of ribbon. Name the answer with a letter, build its line from the story, then work it down to one number.
Challenge
To wrap a gift, Noa cuts two pieces of ribbon, each 1 and 3/4 metres long, and one more piece of 1/2 metre for the bow. Find the total length of ribbon d, in metres. Write d equal to the calculation the story describes, then work it down to one number.
