Multiples

A bus leaves at 8:00, then one every 12 minutes. When does the 6th bus of the day leave? Most people say 9:12. It leaves at 9:00.
The 1st bus leaves at 8:00, with no gap before it. The 6th bus comes 5 gaps later: is 60 minutes. Count the gaps, not the buses.
The times are multiples of 12. A multiple of 12 is 12 times a whole number: 12, 24, 36 and so on.
Challenge
A ferry leaves at noon, then one every 20 minutes. The 8th ferry of the day leaves t minutes after noon. Find t. Write t equal to the calculation, then work it out.
