Period in Degrees
Part of the Graphs of Trig Functions section of Coddy's Trigonometry journey. Lesson 18 of 51.
On a degree axis a full lap is 360°, so the period of sin(b×x) is 360°/b. The wave y = sin(2x) repeats every 180°: it rises to its top at 45°, crosses the axis at 90°, reaches its bottom at 135° and finishes the wave at 180°.
The quarter points of a wave are where to put your dots: start, top, middle, bottom, end, each a quarter period apart. With a period of 180° they are 45° apart.
