What Is a Model?
Part of the Data and Plots section of Coddy's Machine Learning journey. Lesson 2 of 60.
To teach a program apples from oranges, skip the rules. Collect fruit and write down what you see:
Each row is a sample, one fruit. Weight and color are its features. The answer, the kind of fruit, is its label.
Training: a model reads the rows, labels included, and finds the pattern: heavy orange fruit are oranges.
Predicting: show it a new fruit, 200 g and orange with no label yet. It answers: orange.
