Final: A Decimal Mean
Part of the Expressions & Data section of Coddy's Pre-Algebra journey. Lesson 51 of 52.
This mean has decimals among its values. The method is the one you know: add every value, then divide by how many there are. Decimals add by place value, so look for pairs whose tenths make a whole.
Challenge
Over four days Mia ran 2.5, 4, 3.5 and 6 kilometres. The board shows the total over the count, (2.5 + 4 + 3.5 + 6) / 4. Find her mean daily distance.
