Final: The Last Spin
Part of the Expressions & Data section of Coddy's Pre-Algebra journey. Lesson 52 of 52.
A spinner has three colours, and the chances of two of them are given. Every spin lands on exactly one colour, and that fact is enough to find the third chance. The answer is a fraction in lowest terms.
Challenge
A spinner lands on red with probability 3/10 and on blue with probability 1/5. Otherwise it lands on green. Find the probability p of green, as a fraction in lowest terms.
This is the last problem of Pre-Algebra. The next step is Algebra, where a letter like p becomes an unknown that you solve for.
