kubectl are Go programs, and extending them (a Terraform provider, a Kubernetes controller, a Prometheus exporter) is usually done in Go too.go build produces a single executable, fully static with CGO_ENABLED=0, and GOOS=linux GOARCH=arm64 cross-compiles it from your laptop. Nothing to install on the target: no interpreter, no virtualenv, no library versions to match.kubectl in a simulated environment with no daemon and no cloud bill, and every Go lesson ends in a challenge checked by tests.
