Recap - Polar Bonds Survey
Part of the Structure and Bonding section of Coddy's Chemistry journey. Lesson 46 of 49.
Challenge
A student surveyed four molecules that all have a central atom with three atoms around it: boron trifluoride BF₃, borane BH₃, methanal CH₂O and thiophosgene CSCl₂.
Four flat molecules with three atoms around the center
She found that all four have polar bonds, but only some of them are polar molecules. Work out the shape of CSCl₂ and whether the molecule is polar.
