Bounce Pads
Lesson 9 of 18 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Endless Tower course.
The Bounce stage has a green pad, tagged Bounce, below a ledge too high to jump to. Landing on the pad should throw you up onto it.
A character moves with its HumanoidRootPart, the invisible part at its middle. Set that part's AssemblyLinearVelocity and the character flies that way, then gravity brings it down:
root.AssemblyLinearVelocity = Vector3.new(0, 60, 0) -- 60 studs a second, straight upTouched gives you the limb that hit the pad, usually a leg. Its parent is the character, which holds the HumanoidRootPart.
Challenge
Medium- Write
bounce(hit): if the toucher's model has aHumanoidRootPart, set itsAssemblyLinearVelocitytoVector3.new(0, Settings.BouncePower, 0). - In
setupStage, connect the Touched of every part taggedBounceto it.
Press Play, land on the pad and steer onto the ledge. Then Check.
