Final: The Falling Ball
Part of the Radicals & Rational Exponents section of Coddy's Algebra 2 journey. Lesson 43 of 43.
A ball is dropped and falls freely. After falling h metres, its speed is about the square root of 20h metres per second. Find the height it must fall to reach a given speed: the board holds the equation for that speed.
Challenge
A dropped ball's speed after falling h metres is about v = √(20h) metres per second. From what height h does it reach 10 metres per second? Solve the equation on the board, then check your answer in it.
