Equip Up to Three
Lesson 14 of 18 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Pet Simulator course.
Pressing a pet's button should put it out or away. A TextButton fires Activated when pressed (clicked or tapped), on the client. The client asks the server through remotes.Equip, sending the pet itself.
The server checks, as always: the pet must be an Instance in this player's Pets (an exploiter could send anything), and no more than Settings.MaxEquipped can be out. Then it flips Equipped, and the change replicates back: the list redraws and the pet appears or goes.
Challenge
Medium- In
PetClient, each pet's button firesremotes.Equipwith that pet whenActivated. - In
PetServer, connectremotes.Equip.OnServerEvent: stop unless the pet is an Instance inplayer.Pets; if it is out, put it away; otherwise put it out only if fewer thanSettings.MaxEquippedare out.
Press Play and press your pets' buttons. Then Check.
Try it yourself
