Rare Pet News

Lesson 17 of 18 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Pet Simulator course.

When someone hatches a Legendary pet, the whole server should know. FireAllClients fires a RemoteEvent on every player's client at once:

-- server
remotes.Announce:FireAllClients(player.Name, name)
-- client
remotes.Announce.OnClientEvent:Connect(function(who, pet)
end)

Each client shows the news on its HUD's Banner for a few seconds. OnClientEvent gets exactly what the server sent: no player is added on this side.

Challenge

Hard
  1. In PetServer, after hatching, if the pet's Rarity is Legendary, fire remotes.Announce to all clients with the player's Name and the pet's name.
  2. In PetClient, on remotes.Announce.OnClientEvent, set the Banner's text to Player1 hatched a Dragon!, show it, wait 4 seconds and hide it.

Press Play, then Check: the checks make a Dragon hatch.
