Ease Out

Part of the Game Feel section of Coddy's Godot journey. Lesson 4 of 23.

A plain tween moves at one speed and stops at once. Easing changes the speed along the way, so the motion can speed up or slow down.

tween.tween_property(self, "position", Vector2(480, 265), 1.0).set_trans(Tween.TRANS_CUBIC).set_ease(Tween.EASE_OUT)

set_trans picks the shape of the speed curve. Tween.TRANS_SINE is gentle and Tween.TRANS_CUBIC is stronger. Tween.TRANS_BACK goes a little past the end and comes back. Tween.TRANS_ELASTIC wobbles around the end, and Tween.TRANS_BOUNCE bounces.

set_ease says where the slow part goes. Tween.EASE_IN starts slow, Tween.EASE_OUT ends slow, and Tween.EASE_IN_OUT does both. Ease out is the most common. The motion starts fast and slows to a stop.

The robot glides to the pad at one speed. Make it start fast and slow down at the end with Tween.TRANS_CUBIC and Tween.EASE_OUT. Keep the target and the 1 second.
