Victory
Part of the Sprites and Images section of Coddy's Pygame journey. Lesson 39 of 39.
Once wave reaches len(WAVES), every wave is done: the player wins. Stop the game then too, by adding a second condition to the update's if:
if lives > 0 and wave < len(WAVES):The update runs only while both are true: lives left, and a wave still to play.
The win needs its own message, and a lost game must never show it. Test the loss first and the win with elif, which is only checked when the test above it was false:
if lives <= 0:
# Game over
elif wave == len(WAVES):
# the winChallenge
MediumLet the player win.
- Update only while
lives > 0 and wave < len(WAVES). - After the Game over test, add
elif wave == len(WAVES):and drawYou win!centred at(320, 240).
Press Play and clear all three waves: You win! shows and the game stops. Then Check.
