Kills and Respawns

Lesson 18 of 20 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Battlegrounds course.

Beating a bot should count. When a Humanoid dies, nothing says who did it, so hurt remembers the last player who hit each Humanoid. A player's swing or slam passes that player in as the attacker; a bot's hit passes none:

if attacker then
	lastHit[humanoid] = attacker
end

On the bot's Died, the last hitter gets a Kill. The bot stays a moment, goes, and Settings.BotRespawn seconds later a new one takes its place. And the arena gets Settings.Bots of them.

Challenge

Hard
  1. Add local lastHit = {}. Give hurt a third parameter, attacker, and remember it; pass player from swing and the slam.
  2. In spawnBot, on Died: credit the kill (and forget the entry), wait 1 second, destroy the bot, wait Settings.BotRespawn and spawn another.
  3. Spawn Settings.Bots bots instead of one.

Press Play and fight. Then Check.

Try it yourself
