Cooldown Display
Lesson 8 of 20 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Battlegrounds course.
A player should see when an ability is ready. The HUD has a Cooldowns frame with a label per ability, and the server already keeps DashReadyAt on the player, where their client can read it.
A countdown changes every frame, so the client redraws it on RunService.Heartbeat, which fires once per frame. string.format keeps one decimal:
string.format("%s %.1f", "Dash", 2.345) --> "Dash 2.3"The client only shows the cooldown. The server's check from the last lesson still decides.
Challenge
MediumIn BattleClient, get RunService, local me = Players.LocalPlayer and local hud = script.Parent. On every Heartbeat, for each name in local shown = { "Dash" }, set hud.Cooldowns[name].Text to Dash 2.3 while it cools down, and Dash ready when it is ready.
Press Play, press Q and watch the label. Then Check.
