Block
Lesson 10 of 20 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Battlegrounds course.
F blocks: for Settings.BlockTime seconds every hit you take does only a share of its damage, Settings.BlockMultiplier. Whether someone is blocking is an attribute of their character, Blocking, so anything can read it.
Because every hit goes through hurt, the rule is written once:
if character:GetAttribute("Blocking") then
amount *= Settings.BlockMultiplier
endBots will hit you in chapter 4, and the same lines will protect you then.
Challenge
Medium- Add
abilities.Block: set the character'sBlockingattribute, and remove it afterSettings.BlockTime(if the character is still there). - In
hurt, multiply the amount bySettings.BlockMultiplierwhen the character is blocking. - In
BattleClient, bind"Block"to F and show it in the display.
Press Play, then Check.
