Ultimate
Lesson 20 of 20 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Battlegrounds course.
The last ability: an ultimate on R. Every hit you land adds Settings.UltimatePerHit to a meter, an attribute of the player, up to Settings.UltimateMax; a full meter lets R hit everyone within Settings.UltimateRadius for Settings.UltimateDamage, and empties it.
An ultimate with an empty meter should do nothing and cost nothing, so an ability can now say no by returning false, and the handler sets the cooldown only when it did not:
if abilities[name](player, character, root) ~= false then
player:SetAttribute(name .. "ReadyAt", now + Settings.Cooldowns[name])
endThe HUD's Ultimate bar shows the meter. That is the whole game: fight, combo, block, and fill the meter.
Challenge
Hard- Start every player's
Ultimateattribute at 0. - In
hurt, a hit with an attacker addsSettings.UltimatePerHitto the attacker's meter, at mostSettings.UltimateMax. - Add
abilities.Ultimate: return false unless the meter is full; hurt everyone (once each, not you) withinSettings.UltimateRadiusforSettings.UltimateDamage; then empty the meter (after the hits, since they fill it too). Set the cooldown only when an ability did not return false. - In
BattleClient, bind"Ultimate"to R, and sizehud.Ultimate.Fillto the meter.
Press Play and fight. Then Check.
