Caught

Lesson 13 of 20 in Coddy's Roblox Game: Escape the Dark course.

Until now the monster walked up to you and stood there. Within Settings.CatchDistance it catches you: your Humanoid's health goes to 0, and you come back at your checkpoint.

Then the monster goes, and the next door that opens brings it back, behind you again. So spawning is no longer only at room MonsterFrom, but at any room from it on, whenever there is no monster:

if count >= Settings.MonsterFrom and not monster then
	spawnMonster()
end
challenge icon

Challenge

Medium
  1. In runMonster, when the nearest character is within Settings.CatchDistance: set its Humanoid's Health to 0, destroy the monster, set monster to nil and return.
  2. In addRoom, spawn a monster whenever count is at least Settings.MonsterFrom and there is none.

Press Play, then Check.
