The Bohr Model
Part of the Optics, Waves and Modern Physics section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 40 of 53.
The electron moves only on certain orbits, each with its energy:
Eₙ = −13.6 eV / n²
n = 1 is the ground state. Ionisation from it: 13.6 eV.
rₙ = n² r₁
Challenge
What is the energy E_3 of the electron in the n = 3 level of hydrogen, in eV?
Try it yourself
