The Image in a Mirror
Part of the Optics, Waves and Modern Physics section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 8 of 53.
Light from A reflects off the mirror. Traced back, the rays all seem to come from one point behind it: the image A′.
As far behind the mirror as the object is in front, on the line at right angles to it.
The image is the same size and upright. It is virtual: no light passes through it.
Challenge
A girl stands 1.5 m in front of a wall mirror. How far D is she from her image?
