Two Mirrors
Part of the Optics, Waves and Modern Physics section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 10 of 53.
Each mirror reflects the images in the other one.
For mirrors at an angle θ (360° / θ a whole number):
N = 360° / θ − 1
90° gives 3 images, 60° gives 5; parallel mirrors give images without end.
Challenge
Two mirrors meet at θ = 72°. How many images N of a candle between them do you see?
