Recap: The Vertex
Part of the Quadratics & Complex Numbers section of Coddy's Algebra 2 journey. Lesson 5 of 51.
Challenge
Find the height of the vertex of g(x) = -x^2 - 6x + 1. Its axis is x = -3, so the board holds g(-3). Use the rule, then type the arithmetic line by line. Since a is negative, the number you get is the largest value g ever reaches.
Try it yourself
g(-3)
