Recap - Chlorine for Bromine
Part of the Stoichiometry section of Coddy's Chemistry journey. Lesson 35 of 41.
Challenge
Bromine is taken out of Dead Sea brine by bubbling chlorine gas through it:
Cl₂(g) + 2Br⁻(aq) → 2Cl⁻(aq) + Br₂(l)
Calculate the volume of chlorine gas, VCl2, at room conditions, needed to set free all the bromine in = 1,000 L of brine with Br⁻. Assume that 1 mol of gas takes 25 L.
