Recap - The Full Plant
Part of the Stoichiometry section of Coddy's Chemistry journey. Lesson 33 of 41.
Challenge
A fertilizer plant makes ammonium sulfate, (NH₄)₂SO₄ (132 g/mol), in two steps:
N₂(g) + 3H₂(g) → 2NH₃(g)
2NH₃(g) + H₂SO₄(aq) → (NH₄)₂SO₄(aq)
The plant runs both steps on of nitrogen gas, N₂, with plenty of hydrogen and sulfuric acid, and everything reacts. What mass of ammonium sulfate does it make?
