Hold the Line

Part of the The King and the Pawn section of Coddy's Endgames journey. Lesson 12 of 26.

A pawn down is not lost. Put your king in front of the pawn, take the opposition whenever his king faces yours, and when the pawn advances with check, step straight back - never sideways. Do that and the pawn reaches the seventh with your king in front of it: stalemate, half a point.
