The Spare Tempo

Part of the The King and the Pawn section of Coddy's Endgames journey. Lesson 11 of 26.

Kings mirror kings forever - but a pawn move is a move the other king cannot copy. When the kings face each other and it is YOUR move, a pawn step hands the move back to him, and the opposition is yours. A pawn on its home square has two such steps. Spend one, keep the other.
