Queen Beats a Piece

Part of the The King and the Pawn section of Coddy's Endgames journey. Lesson 2 of 26.

A queen against a lone bishop or knight is a won game. Mate him exactly as if he were alone - box, king, kiss - and watch the one square his piece guards. Better still, look for the royal fork: a check that also attacks the piece wins it at once, and then he really is alone.
