First to Five
Lesson 37 of 40 in Coddy's Make Games with Pygame course.
The first player to 5 points wins. Keep the winner's name in a variable that starts as None, Python's value for "nothing yet":
winner = None
if left_score == 5:
winner = "Left player wins!"
elif right_score == 5:
winner = "Right player wins!"Test it with winner is None or winner is not None. Once someone has won, the ball keeps waiting: Space serves only while winner is None.
Show the winner centred at (300, 120), in place of the serve message.
Challenge
Medium- Before the loop, set
winner = None. - After the scoring, set
winnerto"Left player wins!"whenleft_score == 5, or"Right player wins!"whenright_score == 5. - Space serves only while
winner is None. - When there is a winner, show it centred at
(300, 120)instead ofPress Space to serve.
