Examples Get Copied
Part of the Prompting Techniques section of Coddy's AI Prompts journey. Lesson 4 of 24.
Examples are powerful because the AI copies them closely. Sometimes too closely: whatever your examples have in common, the AI treats as part of the pattern, even things you never meant to teach.
Say you want meeting reminders and both examples happen at the same time: Standup at 11:05, room 2 and Design review at 11:05, room 4. Ask for a reminder for a sales call, and the AI may well write Sales call at 11:05, a time nobody gave it. Length gets copied too: one-line examples get one-line answers, long examples get long ones.
So vary everything you do not want copied: times, topics, names and lengths. Keep only the format identical. The same goes for answers: if all your example labels are positive, the AI leans toward positive, so mix them.
