Tables From Text

Part of the Prompting Techniques section of Coddy's AI Prompts journey. Lesson 11 of 24.

In Fundamentals you asked for a table of new content. Often the data already exists, buried in sentences. Pulled into a table, you can sort it, compare it, or paste it into a spreadsheet.

Make a Markdown table with the columns Product and Stock from this text. Reply with the table only.
We have 12 red pens, 40 notebooks and 7 staplers.
| Product | Stock |
|--------|-------|
| Red Pen | 12 |
| Notebook | 40 |
| Stapler | 7 |

Naming the columns decides which data gets pulled out, and in which order. Reply with the table only keeps out the intro sentence and the summary underneath, so the whole reply is the table.
