Diluting an Acid

Part of the Acids and Bases section of Coddy's Chemistry journey. Lesson 16 of 30.

Diluting keeps the moles: c₁V₁ = c₂V₂.

An acid made ten times more dilute

0.1 M becomes 0.01 M

Ten times more dilute: [H₃O⁺] ten times less, pH one higher. The pH of an acid climbs towards 7 but never passes it.
