pOH

Part of the Acids and Bases section of Coddy's Chemistry journey. Lesson 15 of 30.

pOH=−log⁡[OH−]\mathrm{pOH} = -\log[\mathrm{OH^-}], and at 25 °C:

pH+pOH=14\mathrm{pH} + \mathrm{pOH} = 14

Shortcut for bases: pOH from [OH⁻], then pH = 14 − pOH. 0.01 M NaOH: pOH 2, pH 12.
