Rounding Results
Part of the Formulas and Data Analysis section of Coddy's Excel journey. Lesson 4 of 28.
ROUND(number, digits) returns a rounded number. Two digits keep hundredths; zero digits give a whole number. This changes the value used by later formulas, unlike display formatting alone.
B2 contains 12.346.
Example: =ROUND(B2,2).
The third decimal digit is six, so the hundredths round upward.
Use ROUND when the numeric result itself must have a chosen number of decimal places.
The practice sheet highlights cells where you should enter formulas. The same formulas must work when the tests replace the input data.
Challenge
EasyEach row has a line amount in B2:B4. Round each amount to two decimal places in C2:C4.
Enter formulas in the highlighted output cells: C2, C3, C4. Keep the supplied data and headings. Tests change input values, so use cell references instead of typing the sample answers. Use English function names and commas between arguments.
