SUMIF

SUMIF(criteria_range, criteria, sum_range) adds values from rows matching one condition. The criteria and sum ranges should align row for row. A match in the first row of one range selects the first row of the other.

A2 contains East, A3 contains West, A4 contains East, B2 contains 20, B3 contains 50, B4 contains 30.

Example: =SUMIF(A2:A4,"East",B2:B4).

The two East rows contribute 20 + 30; the West row is excluded.

Align the criteria range and sum range so each match selects the intended amount.

The practice sheet highlights cells where you should enter formulas. The same formulas must work when the tests replace the input data.

Enter formulas in the highlighted output cells: F2. Keep the supplied data and headings. Tests change input values, so use cell references instead of typing the sample answers. Use English function names and commas between arguments.
