TRIM Spaces

Part of the Formulas and Data Analysis section of Coddy's Excel journey. Lesson 21 of 28.

TRIM(text) removes leading and trailing ordinary spaces and reduces runs of ordinary spaces between words to one. It does not remove every Unicode whitespace character. Our inputs use ordinary keyboard spaces.

B2 contains North Team .

Example: =TRIM(B2).

Leading and trailing spaces disappear, and the internal run becomes one space.

TRIM cleans ordinary spaces while preserving a single separator between words.

The practice sheet highlights cells where you should enter formulas. The same formulas must work when the tests replace the input data.

Raw names are in B2:B4. Clean their ordinary spaces in C2:C4 using TRIM.

Enter formulas in the highlighted output cells: C2, C3, C4. Keep the supplied data and headings. Tests change input values, so use cell references instead of typing the sample answers. Use English function names and commas between arguments.
