Final: The Big Wheel
Part of the Trig Equations and Inverses section of Coddy's Trigonometry journey. Lesson 53 of 56.
A big wheel has a radius of 60 m and its centre 75 m above the ground. After a capsule turns x degrees from the bottom, it is h = 75 − 60cos(x) metres up. In one full turn, find when the capsule is 100 m up, each angle to two decimal places.
Challenge
The capsule is 100 m up when 75 − 60cos(x) = 100. Solve it for every x in [0°, 360°), each to two decimal places, and press Check.
