Pawn and Queen Forks

Part of the Tactics section of Coddy's Chess journey. Lesson 9 of 48.

The knight gets the fame, but the pawn fork is the cheapest attack in chess: one point forking two pieces, profitable even if the pawn is captured back. At the other end of the scale the queen forks from across the whole board - when her targets are loose, or one of them is the king.
