The Skewer

Part of the Tactics section of Coddy's Chess journey. Lesson 20 of 48.

Turn the pin around: two enemy pieces on one line with the valuable one in front - a skewer. The front piece steps away to save itself, and whatever it was hiding is yours. Against a king it cannot be refused: check is not a suggestion. Only line pieces skewer.
