Rook Roller and Edge Mates

The two-rook ladder from Fundamentals finishes on rank 1 or 8 - but it lives on every edge. Read it by jobs: one rook is the fence, owning the lane beside the king; the other checks along the lane he is stuck in. One rule keeps it alive: never check with the fence rook.
