Electric Power
Part of the Electricity and Magnetism section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 24 of 51.
The power used by a part of a circuit, in watts:
P = V I = I² R = V² / R
In a resistor it all becomes heat.
The energy used in a time t: E = P t. A bulb's brightness is its power.
Challenge
A kettle is rated 2000 W on 230 V. What is the resistance R of its heating element?
