Faraday's Law
Part of the Electricity and Magnetism section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 49 of 51.
A changing flux makes an EMF. For a coil of N turns:
ε = N ΔΦ / Δt
Any change counts: the field, the area, or the angle. A steady flux gives no EMF.
Challenge
A coil of 100 turns, each of area 0.01 m², sits in a field at right angles to it. The field grows from 0 to 0.5 T in 0.1 s. What EMF ε is induced?
