Solving Two Loops
Part of the Electricity and Magnetism section of Coddy's Physics journey. Lesson 32 of 51.
Three unknown currents need three equations: one junction rule and two loop rules.
Give each current a direction, write the rules with those directions, and solve them together. A negative current flows the other way.
Challenge
In the circuit, ε₁ = ε₂ = 12 V, R₁ = 2 Ω, and R₂ = R₃ = 4 Ω. What current I_3 flows through R₃? Give every current a direction first.
