When to Trade

Part of the Playing Real Games section of Coddy's Chess journey. Lesson 25 of 40.

You won a piece. Now what? Trade pieces, not pawns. Every pair of pieces that leaves the board makes your extra one bigger, until it is the only piece left and the ending plays itself. Behind in material, do the opposite: decline every trade, keep the queens on, and make trouble.
