Quiz: Keep Score
Part of the Projects section of Coddy's Flutter journey. Lesson 13 of 36.
A quiz is more fun when you can see how you are doing. Keep a score in the state, add one for each right answer, and show it in the top bar.
The best place to count is _pick, inside the same setState that stores the answer. Compare the answer you were given, answer, with the right one:
setState(() {
_picked = answer;
if (answer == _question.correct) {
_score++;
}
});The guard at the top of _pick already stops a second tap, so each question can add at most one point.
An AppBar takes actions:, a list of widgets on its right end. Put the score there, wrapped in a Center so it sits in the middle of the bar's height, with 16 pixels of padding on the right.
Challenge
MediumKeep score:
- add
int _score = 0;to the state - in
_pick, add one to it when the answer is the right one - show
Score: 0(with the real score) in the top bar'sactions, in the theme'stitleMediumstyle, centered, with 16 pixels of padding on the right
